High removal-risk signals

63/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 10+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.4.34, well behind 6.8.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Est. acquisition value

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

Reviewers say it does exactly one thing and does it well, fixing WordPress appending "-2" to numeric slugs, though one notes the developer died in 2019.

You can’t have a post with a numeric slug like “2020.” WordPress will automatically add a “-2” to the end of it. This plugin solves the problem instantly. This developer passed on in 2019. I’m praying for his soul and the comfort of his family.

This have been bugging me for soooo long. Finally a way to make pretty URLs. Before WordPress just added a “-2”, and the end, but now it’s displayed as I wanted it. Example: Before: site.com/pictures/2016-2/ Now: site.com/pictures/2016/
