Biggest opportunity: Swap “block” and “block editor” for “block controls” and “control”. “block” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “block controls” sits at #20 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “block editor” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “control” sits at #23 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.

How it's measured →1.1%
of downloads still active
At least 80 of 7.4K lifetime downloads are still running, below its category: the median Blocks plugin keeps 2.1%, across 1,577 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Blocks plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 5 releases in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

Directory rank
Ranked about #17,400 to #18,100, alongside the other plugins at 80+ installs. Plugins with the same install count swap places between wp.org requests, so this is where most of them sit. Checked monthly, last on 21 Oct 2026.
Update activity
Downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites.
Not enough installs to measure. This needs at least 100 active sites; below that, a handful of downloads reads as tens of thousands.

via wordpress.orgShare of active installs on each version of this plugin. Green is the current release; a big slice on older versions is a user base that has stopped updating.
Estimated active installs
The public count shows “80+”. Our estimate pins where the real number sits.
Crossed into this band 7 days ago and a band this size takes about a year or more to cross, so the real count is still just under 90.

Klare Empfehlung!

Lovely helper plugin lets you select, if you need to be logged in to see a block in a post or page and whether it should be hidden on certain devices. Currently the plugin description may be a little vague (“it does what?”) but the plugin works right out of the box and may be for many a smart solution for a simple task. Well done, Matthias and Simon. 👏🏻

I’ve used this plugins on two websites now. It works just great. The visibility option for different devices is very useful.
