How it's measured →6.4%
of downloads still active
At least 600K of 9.4M lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Forms plugin keeps 1.2%, across 1,668 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Forms plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 6 releases in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

What to do about it
- Your five tags are all earning their place. Each gets you onto page 1 of its own search, so none is worth giving up. “contact form 7 addon”, “contact form 7 extension” and “contact form 7 popup” (#4, #4 and #4 untagged) would be the next worth testing if a slot frees up.

It’s been a long time and Contact Form 7 has been a tried and true plugin with all the nostalgic feels of simple, effective plugins that don’t f around. A pleasure, and thank you for helping this small business person make loads of great websites for other small businesses and non profits too. Gracias.
