   Back in 2019, when the CCPA was first enacted into law, OneTrust was loose, janky and difficult to configure for CCPA/GDPR compliance. Back then, you have to configure your cookie banners, geolocation rules and consent policies without clear documentation. You also had to manually include the cookie banner script tags generated by OneTrust into your website in order to get the cookie banners to work, which often times cluttered up your website’s code. OneTrust has made several improvements and updates to their platform and SDK since then and CookiePro streamlines the process of adding cookie banners by allowing you to copy and paste the script tags. Overall my experience with CookiePro is good to fair – this plugin helps to make quick changes and removes the need to physically include OT script tags in your web code (which is a headache if your website code is version-controlled). That being said, the only issue I’ve experienced is that changes made in OneTrust are not always immediately reflected on the live website when using the plugin.    CookiePro does the opposite of what it states. It increases the privacy issues of a website, because it installs a tracker, a third-party script which makes every visitor of your website contact a domain/website under USA jurisdiction.    I have been trying some of the plugins with 1M+ installs and unfortunately they need some manual work in order to be GDPR compliant. With this plugin however, I was able to be GDPR compliant within few minutes. The plugin requires that you create an account with the CookiePro so it can automatically scan your website for all cookies used and make a list of them. Then you copy the script over to the plugin and DONE! You can inform the visitor of detailed cookies used and provide the possibility for them to selectively disable cookies. How wonderful is that?
