High removal-risk signals

75/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 11+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.0.38, well behind 6.8.
  • Reviews souring. Recent reviews read meaningfully worse than older ones, an early sign of decline.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Est. acquisition value

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

Older reviewers found it easy to set up and happy with the widget options, while the newest ones say the setup steps don't cover everything and that it's stopped working altogether.

It no longer works. I loved how this plugin wrapped the link around the comments but unfortunately, it no longer works.

My review is for the installation process only. Not the apps function when installed because I actually didn’t get to use it. As already discussed with the developer, as a newbie I found the installation instructions inadequate because installation was a long many-step process, and the instructions did not fully cover every step. Unlike most other plugins which more or less install themselves, this one requires to e.g. register a new application with Disquss in order to access their API, and through that process I found there were too many gaps where it wasn’t intuitive what to do and not explained either. While I did eventually manage to install it, it did not show any recent comments, but that may have more to do with my sporadic use of Disqus than the app. At that point I had changed my mind, and therefore removed the app. The developer was not happy about my review, and I would prefer to delete it, but seeing that is not possible, I have changed my rating to 3 and revised the tone, since when I wrote the initial review I was quite irritated over the time I had spent lost in the installation process and couldn’t see a way to contact the developer directly, didn’t realise each plugin is connected to a WordPress.org forum et.c. A better way than complaining/writing a poor review is obviously to go to the forum and discuss the installation/issues with other users.

It works fine, and I like the widget options, you will need to tweak the css a bit if you want custom layout 🙂
