Biggest opportunity: “automatic”, “internal” and “links” aren't earning a slot. You list them, but you're not in the first 24 results for those searches. WordPress.org counts only your first five tags, so free the slot for a search you can win.

0.9%

of downloads still active

At least 90 of 10K lifetime downloads are still running, in line with its category: the median SEO plugin keeps 1.2%, across 1,193 plugins.

Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other SEO plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.

Internal Link Manager is the closest thing I can find for my needs. I will have to dive into the code to do a little customizing. Namely, I want the links work across a multisite install while limiting backend access to Super Admin only. Shouldn’t be too difficult, since this plugin already has most of the work done for me. Thanks Kevin!

Works well in terms of adding internal links, but behaves unexpectedly if you set the number of links higher than 1 and have more than 1 word matching an article. Ideally the number of uses would be across all keywords, so setting to 2 would replace 2 words, regardless of the keyword
