How it's measured →2.2%
of downloads still active
At least 40 of 1.8K lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Media plugin keeps 0.8%, across 2,317 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Media plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 7 releases in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

Estimated active installs
The public count shows “40+”. Our estimate pins where the real number sits.
Crossed into this band yesterday and a band this size takes about a year or more to cross, so the real count is still just over 40.
At the current install trend, crossing 50+ in roughly 58 days.

I spent a lot of time testing different PDF gallery plugins because I needed a clean way to showcase my book collection on my WordPress website. My main requirement was to display the books in a grid using the first page of each PDF as the thumbnail, and then open the PDF in a nice viewer when clicked. Surprisingly, I couldn’t find another free plugin that did all of this properly. Most of the plugins I tried either displayed generic PDF icons, were difficult to configure, or required premium features for the functionality I needed. Then I found KindPixels PDF Gallery, and it worked exactly as I wanted. The setup was simple, the gallery looks clean and responsive, and the first-page PDF thumbnails make the book library look professional and visually appealing. If you’re looking for a reliable, easy-to-use PDF gallery plugin—especially for displaying books or digital publications—I highly recommend this plugin. Thank you to the developers for creating such a fantastic free solution!
