Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Estimated value

What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.

medium confidence

Est. annual revenue

≈$300 range $75–$1.2K

Est. acquisition value

≈$1K range $190–$5.4K

A small install base leaves thin data to model from. The range spans more than 10x because wp.org publishes install counts as broad bands, and conversion and price compound on top. Read the midpoint as an order of magnitude, not a valuation.

How we estimate this

Assumptions

  • Free → paid conversion. 0.5%–2% of active installs pay for the pro tier. Typical for freemium WordPress plugins; the real rate varies a lot by product.
  • Annual price per customer. $149–$299 a year, typical for Membership plugins rather than this plugin's own pricing.
  • Acquisition multiple. 2.5x–4.5x annual revenue, the going range for small WordPress-plugin businesses, stretched a little because downloads are growing.
  • Install base. 100–200 active installs, from our install estimate (wp.org only publishes the floor).

Revenue is installs × conversion × price; value is revenue × a typical acquisition multiple. Every factor is an assumption band, so the output is a wide range on purpose. If you're buying or selling, treat this as a starting point for due diligence.

Reviewer account pattern

from wp.org reviewer profiles

18 of the last 23 four- and five-star reviews came from accounts created within a month of posting the review, and 13 of those landed between 2025-02-11 and 2025-03-13.

Registering a wp.org account just to leave a review is common and often entirely legitimate. The share here is unusually high for the sample, so it's worth keeping in mind while reading the reviews.

I’ve been using Memberstack for a year now. These guys have nailed both customer support and product experience. Whenever I’ve thought up a new use case for how I want to tailor the member experience on my website, I’m pleasantly surprised Memberstack seems to always already have a feature to support it. Customer support is fast and it’s amazing to still get loom support videos from the founders despite their size. Memberstack delivers a big-tech quality product with startup level care and support. Keep up the great work guys!

Really easy way to add social logins to my site — would have been a headache to figure on my site (especially because they let me track everything on their dashboard). Great option in general.
