   I really struggled to find a slider/carousel that was lean/focussed and could show latest posts.Most just slide whatever block you put in it, or come as a suite of 100 blocks that attempt to take over WP, or charge $80 a year.Crazy that something that so many people must want is this hard.Tried 7 other plugins before this one!Anyway – a few CSS tweaks later and I’m happy with my homepage news slider!

   Tried multiple plugins like this. At least 5 others. This one comes easily closest to what I want, straight out of the box. Free version is more than what most people will need. I’m looking into paid for some tiny specific options I need – plus they deserve an income too. Works fast, and it’s customizable. Great for an article-style blog page. But also for homepages. Filter on categories, show 10 latest ones, pagination etc etc.

   Smart Post has a wide variety of Layout Presets & Content Orientations to choose from. The Navigation style options makes the Post slider blend in with any wordpress theme making it look like it’s part of the overall design. The post sliders look stunning on the page.    This plugin need duplicate option to able copy any existing carousels or lists. Also there is a bug! If you turn of paging, Just default counts(12) items will be show. And even if you turn of paging, You should go turn it on, Then change item counts to show, Then turn of paging and then save!
