Update activity
How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

What its installed base runs
via wordpress.orgShare of active installs on each version of this plugin. Green is the current release; a big slice on older versions is a user base that has stopped updating.
Estimated active installs
The public count shows “60+”. Our estimate pins where the real number sits.

Estimated value
What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.
Est. annual revenue
Est. acquisition value
No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

In terms of set up, it was straight forward. It’s short on features but it’s great for a starter online store

What is it they say about things that seem to be good to be true? Yeah, that was pretty much my experience with this plugin. No monthly fees? No additional fee on top of the payment processor fee? No charge for the plugin? Sounds good, but here is what happened when I tried to use it: Prodigy will make you go through a very in-depth application process, where you will provide all kinds of information on your business to certify it is legit. Once you get through that, they will make you go through an application process with a payment processor that is even more in-depth (they don’t tell you that upfront – its the surprise that’s waiting for you.) In our case, even though we have been in business for 10+ years, regularly do business with the US government and Fortune 500, have Stripe and PayPal Pro accounts and have $1M+ in revenue, we were declined. Why? The payment processor won’t tell you. But I got an email from a Vice President at Prodigy who “felt” that it was because we provided information on our application that wasn’t “accurate” or verifiable. He wanted us to apply again with a different payment processor and this time make sure that all of our information was “accurate” and “verifiable.” Bottom line: they have no idea why your application wasn’t approved, but will assume you fudged something somewhere, I guess? Anyway, don’t bother wasting your time, I say. If we couldn’t get approved being the size business we are, I can’t imagine Mom and Pop shops faring any better. And who needs the added aggravation of the Plugin maker telling you it’s your fault? The problem is their business process which, while a great idea, isn’t ready for prime-time – it’s long, tedious and, in the end, completely opaque – even to them.

(December 2021) This plugin DELETED all my store! STAY AWAY from it! Instead of being added as a second option to use instead of Woocommerce, after installation to try out, WIPEOUT all my products of the Woocommerce store and changed my theme to another that does not show my store products already listed. I have to do again each product in Woocommerce. My products were gone! And also, there is no way to delete a store in their service! And no way to delete your account also! So it will not exist and send you promo emails! If I can give a 0, will do! System only allowed a minimum 1!

Prodigy Commerce platform and its WordPress plugin allow for developers to provide customers a custom frontend experience for users while keeping things simple for store admins to update products with no fear of breaking their site. Prodigy’s use of custom attributes can provide very unique product detail pages without relying on changes to be made in WordPress frontend. The Prodigy Commerce WordPress plugin give developers the ability to customize product templates with enough easy to ensure no two Prodigy store look the same. This platform and plugin is truly a delight for an ecommerce developer.

I’m impressed with the out of the box features provided by Prodigy Platform. It will reduce a lot of time to bring to market new products and e-commerce websites.

I heard about Prodigy Commerce’s upcoming product about 6 months ago and I’ve been waiting… At first use, it looks as strong as hoped. WP e-commerce can be particularly insecure if close attention isn’t paid. Prodigy is the real deal here. Can’t wait to implement a solution for a customer now… This topic was modified 5 years, 3 months ago by zenkutsu.
