Biggest opportunity: Swap “syndication” for “share”. “syndication” isn't earning its slot: it only gets you to #13. “share” sits at #24 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.

How it's measured →3.1%
of downloads still active
At least 1K of 32.2K lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Uncategorized plugin keeps 0.6%, across 17,764 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Uncategorized plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 1 release in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

wp.org is where the directory puts the plugin for that search. On merit is where it would sit if results were ranked on rating, support and updates, without the install boost. The last column is how far the wp.org position moved, from our first reading in the last 90 days to the latest.
| Keyword | wp.org | On merit | wp.org move, 90 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| adopt me your tag | #2 | #3 | 0 |
| posse your tag | #3 | #3 | 0 |
| mastodon your tag | #6 | #13 | down 1 |
| fediverse your tag | #11 | #6 | down 1 |
| syndication your tag | #13 | #9 | down 1 |
| share | #24 | #22 | 0 |

14 searches this plugin appeared in over the last 90 days, 7 listed. 7 left out as unrelated or noise (years, numbers, stray words).
What to do about it
- Swap “syndication” for “share”. “syndication” isn't earning its slot: it only gets you to #13. “share” sits at #24 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.
- One page off on “fediverse”. #11 puts you just past the first ten results, where almost all the clicks stop. The gap to close is small.
- One page off on “syndication”. #13 puts you just past the first ten results, where almost all the clicks stop. The gap to close is small.

Update activity
How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

I tried them all… and this is the best. I recommend this over the wordpress default automatic mastodon sharing functionality. I appreciate the work the developer put into this!👍👍

This plugin does exactly what it says it will. No complaints on it at all and the developer seems to be on top of fixing, and adding features. Keep up the good work!

Very easy to install and setup, it simply posts the title of your post and its url to Mastodon. I would like to see a slight increase in customisability, so you could maybe add some default text and hashtags to that post (”New post from This Blog: [title][url] # # # ”). If thats not added I’ll likely move away from this plugin to a more advanced one. This topic was modified 3 years, 6 months ago by BlijdorperB.
