High removal-risk signals

63/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 8+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.7.35, well behind 6.8.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Estimated value

What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.

Est. annual revenue

N/A

Est. acquisition value

N/A

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

I previously rated this plugin as 1 star because it locked me out of my own website. It turns out, it was because I was on the wrong Wi-Fi network. Now that I got it to work, I am giving it 5 stars. A simple and lightweight plugin and it is exactly what I was looking for to ban IP addresses. Locked me out of my site, I had to FTP in and delete the plugin. Everything looks fine until you log out then BAM it blocked me. It may have worked at one time but it doesn’t work now.

The simple ip ban is purely simple. Very easy to understand. You just type the ip you want to ban and that very ip get banned. No criteria, filters or anything complicated. You just need something like limit-login-attempts-like widget or tool or whatever to find those suspicious ip. Then you type those ip to block them from attempting to login your site again.

Works as expected and yet so simple to use but unfortunately there is no option to show a certain message to the banned user other than redirect that user to a site of your choice – OR show him a blank page.
