   I have used this plugin for a very long time. I used it for a college hockey site and it worked okay for a while. But NOTHING new has been done with this plugin for YEARS. No new features. No Gutenberg integration. No optimization for newer versions of WordPress. The only updates have been bugs and security. It has been dying a slow death. I had been patching this plugin with custom plugins for a few years, but I finally gave up ad created my own plugin with AI coding. Something more custom for my site/audience. The interesting thing is that as soon as I deactivated this plugin, my server stopped maxing out the CPU several times a day. So this plugin has secretly been causing issues on my site for years. So, I can not longer recommend for this plugin. It has been stuck on v2.7.x for over 6 years! It is clear to me that this plugin is just a DEAD END and not a real solution for the future.

Sportspress has been excellent and when ever we ran into any glitch or needed work arounds the Themeboy support have been responsive and excellent in their service. We highly recommend Sportspress

   SportsPress Pro is very good and Themeboy’s support service is fast and very helpful. The plugin has been around for many years and their documentation needs an update as some of the nomenclature has changed. By purchasing the pro version, I was hoping to be able to be able to upload data via csv to populate more of the SportsPress custom fields, but it’s no improvement over the free version which was disappointing (unless I’m missing something, the documentation is not great on this topic). Their API documentation is also a bit lacking for beginners like me.
