Estimated value

What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.

medium confidence

Est. annual revenue

≈$18K range $4K–$80K

Est. acquisition value

≈$35K range $6K–$200K

A declining trend compresses what a buyer would pay. The range spans more than 10x because wp.org publishes install counts as broad bands, and conversion and price compound on top. Read the midpoint as an order of magnitude, not a valuation.

How we estimate this

Assumptions

  • Free → paid conversion. 0.5%–2% of active installs pay for the pro tier. Typical for freemium WordPress plugins; the real rate varies a lot by product.
  • Annual price per customer. $79–$199 a year, typical for Booking & Events plugins rather than this plugin's own pricing.
  • Acquisition multiple. 1.5x–2.5x annual revenue, the going range for small WordPress-plugin businesses, compressed because the install trend is declining.
  • Install base. 10K–20K active installs, from our install estimate (wp.org only publishes the floor).

Revenue is installs × conversion × price; value is revenue × a typical acquisition multiple. Every factor is an assumption band, so the output is a wide range on purpose. If you're buying or selling, treat this as a starting point for due diligence.

Working well for us so far. Definitely seems to be a very good lighter-weight alternative to some of the more bloated calendar solutions we’ve tried previously. I had some issues getting the license activated on a couple of local development sites, and support was stellar in sticking with it and helping me get the problem (which ended up being on our side) resolved.

I have tried several different calendar plugins (free and paid) and have come to the conclusion that there just isn’t one that is easily configurable to my clients needs and easy to customize (including formatting). So far this one (paid) is working well. I had one particular issue that only occurred on 1 of the 3 sites I installed it on (all three were built the same way), but their support kept at it, found the conflict, and fixed it for me. I commend them for that and keeping me updated on the status.

Support was ace but code and functionality are crap, felt like a beta tester installing and working with the paid version. Markup also rubbish. Since switched to Simple Calendar Free version and am much happier with results. I was basically suckered by the review on WPBeginner, which appears to be an affiliated company (DOH!) so cannot by definition be trusted and independent 😉

I was just looking for a simple calendar to display a short events list inside a sidebar and a calendar on a single page. This plugin accomplishes this exactly as expected and, unlike the other many calendar plugins, this one provides two blocks which include the events list and also the calendar optically into the themes look.

Patrick did a very professional very patient job of supporting us with a renewal and loss of data issue we had. Not only did he fix our issue but he was able to write a piece of script which made our calendar even easier to use for our users.
