Biggest opportunity: “easy testimonial slider”, “simple testimonial” and “slider” aren't earning a slot. You list them, but you're not in the first 24 results for those searches. WordPress.org counts only your first five tags, so free the slot for a search you can win.

How it's measured →0.9%
of downloads still active
At least 700 of 74.3K lifetime downloads are still running, in line with its category: the median Media plugin keeps 0.8%, across 2,317 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Media plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.

How it's tracked →Directory searches this plugin turns up in, and which way each one is moving. WordPress.org publishes no history of search positions, so this starts the day we first tracked a keyword and never backfills.
Not enough tracked days yet to call a direction. Momentum needs at least three keywords measured a week or more apart.
wp.org is where the directory puts the plugin for that search. On merit is where it would sit if results were ranked on rating, support and updates, without the install boost. The last column is how far the wp.org position moved, from our first reading in the last 90 days to the latest.

Reviewer account pattern
from wp.org reviewer profiles11 of the last 18 four- and five-star reviews came from accounts created within a month of posting the review.
Registering a wp.org account just to leave a review is common and often entirely legitimate. The share here is unusually high for the sample, so it's worth keeping in mind while reading the reviews.

Encountered an issue with testimonials being cut-off when displaying more than one per page in a slider. When notifying the author I was immediately rejected because I was testing it (using the free version) and had not paid for it. Going to use another plugin which works.

Was very impressed with this tool on first use and happy with the appearance on screen. A recent update automatically added quotation marks to the testimonial text – the quotation marks were oversized resulting in an untidy line spacing for any text which spanned more than one line. I had email correspondence with Umar Bajwa and in a very short space of time an updated version was released which resolved my issue. So, not only a great product but great support too.

Only one basic format unless you want to buy the premium version.

Tried other testimonials plug-ins, even the one included with the theme I use. They all had a steep learning curve just to get started. Then I found Testimonial Sliders, unlike many others, this is compatible with the latest WP version and seems to be updated regularly. After I installed it, it just worked. The user interface is self-explanatory, no need to read any documentation. Also, there’s no intrusive upgrade-to-the-paid-version advertising. Besides, the paid version is just $17.00….very reasonable. If you’re looking for an easy-to-use, with a nice design, and more importantly with clean code testimony plug-in this is it. A triple hat tip to the developers and a big thank-you.
