Biggest opportunity: Swap “importer” and “one click import” for “demo content” and “import demo content”. “importer” isn't earning its slot: it only gets you to #20. “demo content” sits at #4 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “one click import” isn't earning its slot: it only gets you to #20. “import demo content” sits at #5 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.

How it's measured →1.2%
of downloads still active
At least 70K of 5.7M lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Content & Feeds plugin keeps 0.8%, across 865 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Content & Feeds plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 12 releases in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

What to do about it
- Swap “importer” and “one click import” for “demo content” and “import demo content”.
- Under-ranked on “importer”. wp.org puts you #20; on merit you place #10. The plugins above you are winning on install count, not on rating or upkeep.

Update activity
How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Reviewer account pattern
from wp.org reviewer profiles12 of the last 28 four- and five-star reviews came from accounts created within a month of posting the review, and 9 of those landed between 2020-12-08 and 2021-01-04.
Registering a wp.org account just to leave a review is common and often entirely legitimate. The share here is unusually high for the sample, so it's worth keeping in mind while reading the reviews.

I bought and expensive, fancy theme. It was a nightmare to do even the simplest of things, like changing the header logo. I unninstalled that, and went with Zakra. My website was running in less than a day.
