High removal-risk signals

63/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 11+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.2.39, well behind 6.8.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Est. annual revenue

Est. acquisition value

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

To begin with: I love Thin Out Revisions, and it has been a pleasure to use for a number of years. When WP 4.4 came, however, I noticed that the revision purge on initial publication did not work any longer. I just now tested Thin Out Revisions under WP 4.7.4, and unfortunately not only does the revision purge on initial publication no longer work, but it turns out, neither does the manual purge. The only functionality which still does work under WP 4.7 is the Revision Memos. I understand that, technically, this does not warrant a one-star-rating, since Thin Out Revisions is advertised as being compatible up to WP 4.2 only, which it is. Given the fact, though, that there no longer is any way in the Plugin Repository to indicate whether or not a plugin is working under a given WP version, at the moment I see this as the only way to let others know about compatibility issues.

Works as described. Allows me to thin out the revisions that I never use.

nice clean up plugin prior to go-live, huge noticeable difference in the speed of the site. I will have users updating this site and this will be very helpful to avoid revision bloat. Works great with 4.1. Thank you 🙂

I really love this plugin, Thank you! It was great from the beginning, but the ease of use is just fantastic. I like to keep things cleaned up and this is perfect. The Author really takes care of it and improves it when needed. I have never had any problem with it. Aldo, I really like the fail safe. That is, the auto save is labeled and the present version cannot be deleted. I wrote a blog on it because like it so much. Thank you again!
