Biggest opportunity: Swap “banner”, “notification” and “notification bar” for “bottom to top”, “link to top” and “top”. “banner” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “bottom to top” sits at #9 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “notification” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “link to top” sits at #9 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “notification bar” isn't earning its slot: it only gets you to #14. “top” sits at #10 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.

of downloads still active
At least 10K of 306.2K lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Uncategorized plugin keeps 0.6%, across 17,771 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Uncategorized plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 1 release in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

What to do about it
- Swap “banner”, “notification” and “notification bar” for “bottom to top”, “link to top” and “top”.
- One page off on “notification bar”. #14 puts you just past the first ten results, where almost all the clicks stop. The gap to close is small.

Does exactly what it describes. Nothing less, nothing more. I like it!

You can’t change the color of the text, it’s always white. And apparently you can’t change it with code either. This topic was modified 2 years, 7 months ago by estudiobla.

Doesn’t work well with Salient theme. When uninstalling, the plugin would not uninstall cleanly. It was giving a critical error message. I uninstalled it through cPanel. I have used it several times in the past with no problems. Maybe it needs an update?

Top Bar works well enough but engages in abusive business practices. They do not send a notification before they automatically renew your license. In my case, I no longer needed an unlimited license and asked support to please change my license to a single site and refund the difference via a support ticket. They didn’t email a copy of the submission and never responded in any way to my request. After a week or two, I sent a direct email to their support. Still waiting after one month for any response. I have canceled my subscription and won’t do business with this company again. I replaced Topbar with Notibar. A fantastic replacement that has more flexible appearance options and it’s free!
