Biggest opportunity: Swap “video” and “vimeo” for “client dashboard” and “dashboard widgets”. “video” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “client dashboard” sits at #18 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “vimeo” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “dashboard widgets” sits at #24 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.

How it's measured →6.7%
of downloads still active
At least 600 of 8.9K lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Admin & Utilities plugin keeps 0.6%, across 4,186 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Admin & Utilities plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 2 releases in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

wp.org is where the directory puts the plugin for that search. On merit is where it would sit if results were ranked on rating, support and updates, without the install boost. The last column is how far the wp.org position moved, from our first reading in the last 90 days to the latest.

What to do about it
- Swap “video” and “vimeo” for “client dashboard” and “dashboard widgets”.
- One page off on “training”. #13 puts you just past the first ten results, where almost all the clicks stop. The gap to close is small.

Update activity
How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

It’s the perfect plugin to introduce clients to wordpress with tutorials in the dashboard. Sadly just updated 6 months ago, so I am a bit scared that it crashes my site all the time I install it :).

Still works great in July 2020 even though it hasn’t been updated for a while. I am using the Divi framework and it’s great. I like this one because it allows you to add the videos to the dashboard so they see them as soon as they are logged in. Others require users to click the menu item on the left. This is not as clear for clients/users who aren’t used to the WP dashboard. Works great for client support videos.

I’ve been working now a while with this plugin to offer a better service to my clients. With small youtube tutorials, suited to their needs, I can give a much higher support quality and connect with my customers way better as a freelancer 🙂

Adding screencast tutorials helps users complete tasks themselves. Perfect when you get a question likely to pop-up again. A tutorial video in the backend is right where its needed. Tip: Add videos to the list in reverse order so the most recent one is at the top.

This is a very basic but useful video plugin that allows user to add videos to the WordPress dashboard. This plugin allows one to add video tutorials e.g. for owner of their website. Suggested improvements: – control which specific role(s) will see the videos – add ability to show a title, description above/below (?) each video and the whole section – fix PHP notices
