   As a non-developer, the option to restrict access to settings that can inadvertently break my sites is a great safety net. I can even use it to restrict myself by logging with the newly created admin role most of the time so I’m less likely to cause myself problems. Lots of applications for solopreneurs, people who build sites for others, and business owners who need to assign team members specific levels of access.

   Years ago, when I created my first WordPress blog, I had fallen victim (more than once) to ‘just changing’ a theme (because it was prettier!) and actually breaking a ton of things on my site that took hours to find and fix. I’m better at WordPress now and trust myself with the full Administrator role, but use Simple Client Dashboard for the people who need to adjust things on my sites (liked updating content, etc.), but who don’t have the WordPress experience to know when they are doing something dangerous (like changing a theme).
