High removal-risk signals

63/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 9+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.6.30, well behind 6.8.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Est. acquisition value

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

I’m using this on a site I’m developing that will have a “feminine style” and a “masculine style”. The site is in development so I didn’t want to replace the default style.css as that would mean updating two stylesheets (ugh!). Because the style switcher is loaded in the header after the main stylesheet, this is what I did to cut down work … In the plugin I identified the default stylesheet as “Feminine Style” and entered a fake stylesheet name so it would never get replaced. I then created a real “Masculine Style” and entered it’s correct stylesheet name. This way the masculine overrides just the feminine styles I add to it to change 😀 It works great.

Couldn’t get this to work so I left a message for the author who got back to me within a few hours to explain that the icon files aren’t really optional if you select list_type=”icon”. Problem solved.

Great little plugin for web designers who need to show their customer a choice of styles. Quick and easy to use. Supports child themes.

Does what I needed and as far as I can tell, works fine with WP 4.5!

Works well, sometimes there is only part of custom CSS loaded (for example sometimes background color and color of some types of text is changing, but links not). But most of the time it works well.

Really nice little plugin, easily lets you switch stylesheet on the frontend without having to build a custom interface. Highly recommended, best solution I’ve found.
