High removal-risk signals

63/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 10+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.7.35, well behind 6.8.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Estimated value

What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.

Est. annual revenue

N/A

Est. acquisition value

N/A

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

I typically add widgets to my template files using the below code: <?php if ( !function_exists(‘dynamic_sidebar’) || !dynamic_sidebar(‘The Name Of Sidebar Goes Here’) ) : ?> <?php endif; ?> but this plugin is very useful if you want to add within the post/page content itself.

Thank you so much for this plugin! I just used the ID from the register_sidebar() in the functions.php file and it worked perfectly. I tried using Widgetize Pages before, but then the widgets didn’t have any permanent ID’s so this plugin was much better!

Installed from WP and followed instruction using the [dynamic-sidebar id=’Widget Name’] in a Page’s text area. Despite doing as directed the outcome was no widgets being displayed at every try. Also the link to the Website in the Installed Plugins List yielded an error 404 and had to search on the main site for that plugin… no additional troubleshooting or instructions where given for the plugin. I ended up using “amr shortcode any widget” and after following its instructions it worked at the first try (as it should be for most “simple” plugins). Can’t recommend this widget for use with WP 3.9.1 hopefully the developer will fix it or remove it from the WP plugin repository.
