Update activity
How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.
Release cadence
Actively maintainedHow often this plugin actually ships. A steady rhythm is the maintenance signal a single "last updated" date can't show.

What its installed base runs
via wordpress.orgShare of active installs on each version of this plugin · 73% run the current release. Green is the current release; a big slice on older versions is a user base that has stopped updating.

Estimated value
What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.
Est. annual revenue
Est. acquisition value
No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price.

Recent review vibe
read from the latest 12 reviews to 2025-09-16Early reviewers liked the quick setup and the accessibility support, but the recent ones say the widget gets in the way of screen reader users and that everything worth having sits behind a paid service.
Reviewer account pattern
from wp.org reviewer profiles15 of the last 23 four- and five-star reviews came from accounts created within a month of posting the review.
Registering a wp.org account just to leave a review is common and often entirely legitimate. The share here is unusually high for the sample, so it's worth keeping in mind while reading the reviews.

I’ve been told by a user of one of the websites I had to manage that the widget is adding a layer of complexity for screenreader users. After some research, I saw that even their Wikipedia page talks about legal issues and lawsuits, and I don’t want that for my clients. Honestly, I’m surprised this company is still selling their solution. As I know, there is no shortcut in accessibility. It’s like telling you client you can install a widget that fixes all their UX issues. How in the wolrd? This topic was modified 10 months, 1 week ago by Geoffrey.

All of its features are behind a paywall. Should it be available on the WordPress.org repo? Maybe not.

Though pricey, we feel like this plugin is well done and it helps us create a website that is truly more accessible for all users.

I didn’t see a previous review from months ago warning that this plugin does not have something “free”, which – no matter what the author may say to camouflage the idea – it should be very clear that they are promoting/providing a plugin simply to connect to a paid service.

Devs fall for their marketing and then find out client is really in trouble, It makes sites worse. Many articles telling the truth because they do not. Businesses still getting letters and lawsuits with this on the site. All marketing and not truth. They posted many fake positive reviews, and when WordPress found out, the reviews were removed. https://wptavern.com/wordpress-org-removes-fake-reviews-for-acessibe-plugin Do not trust. There’s no quick fix to accessibility, but Accessibe does a good job. However, wish it was more in line with pricing with their competitors.
