High removal-risk signals

75/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 11+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.2.39, well behind 6.8.
  • Reviews souring. Recent reviews read meaningfully worse than older ones, an early sign of decline.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Estimated value

What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.

Est. annual revenue

N/A

Est. acquisition value

N/A

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

Deteriorating Broken updatesCompatibilityFeature requestsPraise

Early reviewers loved it and called it a needed addition to ACF, while the more recent ones say it's broken without a manual fix, with API errors, display problems, and no updates from the author.

It works like a charm with a quick fix : https://wordpress.org/support/topic/preview-display-bug-fix/ Should really be updated by the author because it’s absolutely what we need with ACF !

Great plugin in concept, but it seems like it needs to be updated in order for it to work. The API keeps saying that it is incorrect. Also, in the ACF it doesn’t seem to display what it is supposed to. Very unfortunate. I was looking forward for a plugin like this.

Doesn’t work — 🙁 —, probably due to the fact that there were no plugin updates in the past 2 years. Abandoned? This topic was modified 9 years, 1 month ago by Gabor Lippert.

I was about to make this myself but it already exists and is fantastic. Thanks so much!

Just downloaded and installed it as a plugin. Works fine, I was able to add it as a field in my advanced custom fields UI. Only thing I regret : there is no preview for font. That would be a nice feature to consider for a future version (I’m using it on multisite, and I want my customers to be able to preview font before chosing it). Anyway, nice work and thank you, that plugin was needed in the ACF environment.
