Est. acquisition value

≈$12M range $3M–$45M

A large install base, a clear pro tier and a steady trend. As reliable as an outside estimate gets.

How we estimate this

Assumptions

  • Free → paid conversion. 0.5%–2% of active installs pay for the pro tier. Typical for freemium WordPress plugins; the real rate varies a lot by product. Past 1M installs we taper the rate down: a giant free plugin’s long tail converts far worse.
  • Annual price per customer. $79–$149 a year, typical for Backup plugins rather than this plugin's own pricing.
  • Acquisition multiple. 2.5x–4.5x annual revenue, the going range for small WordPress-plugin businesses, stretched a little because downloads are growing.
  • Install base. 5M–6M active installs, from our install estimate (wp.org only publishes the floor).

Revenue is installs × conversion × price; value is revenue × a typical acquisition multiple. Every factor is an assumption band, so the output is a wide range on purpose. If you're buying or selling, treat this as a starting point for due diligence.

The newest reviews report the latest version breaking local backups and failing imports, plus anger over paywalled restores and poor refund handling, a sharp drop from the praise earlier reviewers gave for painless migrations.

I had high hopes on this plugin, but it does not work. They say we should set the limit to 512MB. I have increased to 1 GB, still same issue. I updated all the parameters for more execution time, everything, still it keeps asking to pay money to get over it. Avoid this.

Greedy company with poor values and horrid customer service. Their yearly subscription email warning landed in my spam, I contacted them ON THE DAY of the payment to cancel my subscription and get a refund and was met only with poor manners and a terrible service. Avoid this plugin and company at all costs, just do a simple search and you will find better FREE alternatives. Do not throw your money at them. Current version of the plugin have inner (hidden) limit for file size – you can’t upload the backup even with limits on the server that exceeds backup’s file size.
