Removal-risk signals

53/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 3+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Falling behind WordPress. Tested up to WordPress 6.1.12.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.

Est. annual revenue

N/A

Est. acquisition value

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

I have WordPress version Version 6.5.5 installed on July 2024 and just installed Mastodon Autopost which perfectly posted an already written article on mastodon by simply ticking the box for it to do so and clicking on “update”. After ot worked once it died – so yes – it is dead now due to abandonment. So go ahad and install it – if a bunch of others use it, it might be revived.I especially like that this is one addon for one simpel social network, so it is lightweight. Edit: Why the hell did WordPress moderators mark this post as spam???I did undergo the process to register only to help the community and some moderators here seem to sabotage it. Just hangs in a loop saying “Authentification, please wait…”Refreshing the page appears as if it works, but it never publishes any posts automatically. The manual test post from the Settings works, but never an automatic or manual post from Posts.

Recently I tried to share articles on Mastodon and this plugin has been very helpful in that. When a new blog post is released it reliably creates a toot with header, excerpt, hashtags and a little thumbnail. Customization of the post template is no problem and it’s easy to configure and set up.
