   Citatly is a pleasantly lightweight plugin that does exactly what it promises: displaying a daily quote from your own collection on your website—without external services, API keys, or unnecessary bloat. What I particularly like is its cache-friendly approach. Even with full-page caching or a CDN, the daily quote is updated reliably and only once per day. This is a technically clean solution. Managing quotes through a dedicated custom post type is intuitive. Authors and additional source information can be added easily. The JSON import/export functions and automatic title generation are also very practical. I also appreciate the security-focused approach: only plain text content is stored and displayed, which helps prevent XSS risks from the outset. Anyone looking for a straightforward, privacy-friendly, and well-designed “Quote of the Day” plugin should definitely take a look at Citatly.
