FunnelKit Payment Gateway for Square WooCommerce

How well this listing is tuned to rank in WordPress.org search, on the factors an owner controls. Not popularity, optimization.

Directory searches this plugin turns up in, and which way each one is moving. WordPress.org publishes no history of search positions, so this starts the day we first tracked a keyword and never backfills.

wp.org is where the directory puts the plugin for that search. On merit is where it would sit if results were ranked on rating, support and updates, without the install boost. The last column is how far the wp.org position moved, from our first reading in the last 90 days to the latest.

23 searches this plugin appeared in over the last 90 days, 9 listed. 14 left out as unrelated or noise (years, numbers, stray words). 3 of its tags aren't in the top 24 for their own search.

Directory rank

Ranked about #13,300 to #16,400, alongside the other plugins at 100+ installs. Plugins with the same install count swap places between wp.org requests, so this is where most of them sit. Checked monthly, last on 1 Nov 2026.

How often this plugin actually ships. A steady rhythm is the maintenance signal a single "last updated" date can't show.

Share of active installs on each version of this plugin · 85% run the current release. Green is the current release; a big slice on older versions is a user base that has stopped updating.

Crossed into this band 2 months ago and a band this size takes about a year or more to cross, so the real count is still just over 100.

At the current install trend, crossing 200+ in roughly 322 days.

I’ve been setting up WooCommerce for my small holistic health shop and ran into a frustrating sync issue between Square and WooCommerce. I provide services in my practice that I did not want in my online shop. My Square Service Library entries kept importing as products, and even setting them to Draft didn’t stick. They’d reappear as active products with every sync.I reached out to FunnelKit support, gave them a detailed write-up and screenshots. Akhil was very quick to respond to my plea and escalated to the next level of support. Harish took it from there. Not only did he diagnose the root cause, he actually built a fix into the plugin itself. A new setting now lets me skip Service Library entries entirely, and the importer was updated to respect Draft and Private status. A clean, permanent solution. The support was fast, personal, and went well beyond what I expected, with the kind of response that turns a frustrated customer into a lifelong one. If you’re running WooCommerce with Square POS, do consider this plugin. It has great features, is easy to set up and the team is incredibly responsive with an apparent commitment to solving problems. We’ve had a very hard tie with the native square plugin. We saw the funnelkit option and decided to give it a try instead. Its WAY BETTER. It works as intended (no longer experiencing the weird issues we were with the previous plugin), was super simple to set up, the Apply/Google pay integration is super clean (and provides some great options where to show these buttons) and the support team, when needed, has been exceptional. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any woocommerce store using square for payment processing.

The old WooCommerce Square plugin is absolute trash. I’ve been wrestling with it for years—broken features, useless support, and Apple Pay/Google Pay that never worked no matter how many times we “verified the domain” exactly like their docs said. Then FunnelKit dropped this Square plugin and holy hell—it’s night and day. It just works. Apple Pay and Google Pay were live in 10 seconds flat. One-click options at the top, cleaner interface, ability to tweak separator text, better UI… all the little details the old WooCommerce Square Plugin ignored for years, FunnelKit nailed in version one. On top of that, their support team is fast and actually fixes problems. WooCommerce’s Square team ghosted us for three years. FunnelKit? They reply, they patch, they improve. Period. We’ve trusted FunnelKit for years with their other plugins and they’ve always delivered. This Square plugin fits perfectly into their ecosystem. For the first time in three years, I can honestly say my checkout looks good, works flawlessly, and gives customers modern options like Apple Pay and Google Pay. If you’ve been banging your head against WooCommerce’s Square disaster, stop wasting your time. FunnelKit’s version is the real deal.
