Biggest opportunity: Swap “image gallery”, “wordpress gallery” and “video gallery” for “wistia”, “video portfolio” and “image portfolio”. “image gallery” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “wistia” sits at #6 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “wordpress gallery” isn't earning its slot: it only gets you to #24. “video portfolio” sits at #10 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “video gallery” isn't earning its slot: it only gets you to #22. “image portfolio” sits at #11 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. How it's measured →1.2%
of downloads still active
At least 10K of 856.1K lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Media plugin keeps 0.8%, across 2,319 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Media plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 2 releases in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

What to do about it
- Swap “image gallery”, “wordpress gallery” and “video gallery” for “wistia”, “video portfolio” and “image portfolio”. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.
- Slipping on “video gallery”. Down 7 places since 2026-09-18, now #22. Check what shipped around then, and what moved above you.
- One page off on “portfolio gallery”. #14 puts you just past the first ten results, where almost all the clicks stop. The gap to close is small.

It’s very easy to use, works smoothly, and integrates perfectly with my website. Adding videos to the gallery is quick and simple, and the design looks clean and professional. The plugin is lightweight, loads fast, and doesn’t slow down the site, which is very important. The support team is also responsive and helpful, which makes the experience even better. If you need a reliable way to showcase your videos in a gallery format, this plugin is definitely the right choice. Highly recommended!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the team at Total Soft for a good plugin, and more importantly for outstanding support which you don’t find very often. I’m only using the free version of their Video Gallery plugin so haven’t paid a penny for anything – I had a few pretty detailed questions regarding operation of the plugin/URL usage etc and thought I’d drop a quick mail to the team to see if I might get a response. My usual experience with free plugins – which is completely understandable – is that the developer(s) will do their best to get back to you if and when they can. Total Soft replied to my email within *minutes* and we had a thread going in near-real-time to fix my issues – super helpful folks, thanks very much Total Soft!

I have been searching for a plugin to help me create a Video gallery for client testimonials. I wanted a plugin that does not create a “page” for each video. This plugin does just that. A ton of features, fantastic support & super easy to use. Highly recommend!!
