Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 8+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.8.30, well behind 6.8.

Update activity

How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

Estimated value

What this plugin might earn a year, and what it might sell for. Modeled from public signals; we don't see anyone's books.

Est. annual revenue

N/A

Est. acquisition value

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

Hi Justin, It’s a great plugin i have discovered recently. Lots of sites do not use Featured Image and prefer to add images into the editor, especially very old sites and blogs. This is the main reason i am using this plugin. I see that the plugin was last updated four months ago. Are you going to maintain and develop this plugin in the future?

It sounded too good to be true. Don’t use this plugin unless you know where to put your hands in the core. The plugin offer absolutely no settings, neither a checkbox or anything in the backend (where the game should occur), you almost think it’s not installed. The instructions on Github are only clear to WP developers and so vague that not even studying WP documentation you can understand where to put the functions. Lucky those 50K who are succesfully using it, they must all be developers. Myself, I canned it!

Hello everyone and plugin author, this is one of the greatest plugins I’ve ever used for setting up custom thumbnails without using the default Featured Image feature. With some tips and hints from https://github.com/ I have been able to do what I wanted to do with this plugin, thanks a bunch, I really appreciate this. Keep up the awesome work! Regards.

Worked fine until it didn’t. Images no longer show up in my blog roll, featured page slider, alt homepage widgets, or gallery. My store sales have ceased because there are no pictures anymore. Developer blames theme, but seriously. If this is where WordPress is headed, SquareSpace is going to be a better option – less wasteful of my time, far less breakable, and no more money wasted on plugins that don’t work.
