Biggest opportunity: Swap “paid content”, “premium content” and “content monetization” for “adblock”, “earn money” and “crowdfunding”. “paid content” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “adblock” sits at #7 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “premium content” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “earn money” sits at #14 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. “content monetization” isn't earning its slot: it only gets you to #12. “crowdfunding” sits at #15 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.

How it's measured →3.4%
of downloads still active
At least 600 of 17.4K lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Uncategorized plugin keeps 0.6%, across 17,769 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Uncategorized plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 1 release in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

wp.org is where the directory puts the plugin for that search. On merit is where it would sit if results were ranked on rating, support and updates, without the install boost. The last column is how far the wp.org position moved, from our first reading in the last 90 days to the latest.

What to do about it
- Swap “paid content”, “premium content” and “content monetization” for “adblock”, “earn money” and “crowdfunding”.
- One page off on “content monetization”. #12 puts you just past the first ten results, where almost all the clicks stop. The gap to close is small.
- One page off on “paywall”. #12 puts you just past the first ten results, where almost all the clicks stop. The gap to close is small.

Update activity
How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.

What its installed base runs
via wordpress.orgShare of active installs on each version of this plugin. Green is the current release; a big slice on older versions is a user base that has stopped updating.
Estimated active installs
The public count shows “600+”. Our estimate pins where the real number sits.
Crossed into this band 29 days ago and a band this size takes about a year or more to cross, so the real count is still just under 700.
At the current install trend, crossing 700+ in roughly 941 days.

We only used the plugin for a short time (we don’t have paywalls on our website) but essentially it did everything it should

Sonst vollkommen zufrieden. Es hat uns und unseren Lesern geholfen.

Steady is a platform that enables independent publishers to create revenue through memberships. With this plugin it’s easy to integrate it into a wordpress website. Works great, never had any issues.

My review was removed. I was describing in what way this plugin sucked, but I guess that doesn’t belong in a review section. No explanation then. This plugin simply sucks. I cannot warn future users in what way it sucks. You must guess it yourself. I do not need support. If I wanted support, I would have emailed Steady. This is an actual review.

I love Steady and it does the job for us. But I’ve been trying to get some assistance and I’ve been waiting for days now and I still haven’t received any support whatsoever on different channels (email, Facebook, here).
