   Great feature to push Google Docs to WordPress. Installation required some patience; a value check for the WP configuration would be great; somehow I had several URLs in the input fields. Re-editing in gDocs and then moving it back into the origin folder is working (cron). After re-editing/re-submission the previous WP Category setting were gone. I did not explore the formatting behavior. Super plugin for a tech-savvy admin/developer. Don’t let this project die. Idea: In the WP settings give me a field for an email address and send me a message w/ link for each new post. Also a check box would be great to choose between draft and publish for new posts.    Do not think you can use this plugin unless you have advanced tech/coding skills. The installation instructions are incomplete & vague. Even getting clearer instructions from the WP Support forum did not succeed in getting it installed. The idea of this plugin is wonderful. But it requires installing three files & a variety of ancillary coding/setup involving Google API configuration that it quite daunting, especially without clearer instructions about how to do it. That being said, if you have all these coding skills, you’ll love this plugin.

   Plugin installs and works on a multi-site 4.0-beta-3 site with the plugin activated in only one site. Putting the Google Docs credentials in the wp-config.php files as described here. It only imports text from gDoc files – choked on a nested folder and a PDF file. Each gDoc was placed into a “Uncategorized” Draft post. The cron jobs update modified/added files every minute – BUT IT CREATES A NEW REVISION OF EVERY DOC EVERY MINUTE!!! The solution is to turn off (deactivate) the “Docs to WordPress extender – Run on Cron (every minute)” plugin until it is needed. To do a refresh, just turn it on for a minute. My database *might* handle a revision each day, so a modification to the “extend-cron.php” script might be workable. The deal-breaker problem for me, however, is that one main use of gDocs is to document shortcodes, which get expanded/executed in the imported posts! Probably would not be worth the effort to make this an option… {sigh} Otherwise. potentially a great plugin if the development and documentation could be kept going. What I really need is a Table of Contents of my gDocs… {research continues}

   This plug in leaves me with my jaw on the floor. I am the web editor of a university newspaper, and currently I have to manually copy-and-paste the articles from InDesign to separate WordPress posts. With this plug in we can easily rework our workflow, since our university has google apps, so that the manual labor is reduced to a minimum, and authors are able to get real-time feedback and editing on their articles! Fantastic. I am running 3.8.1, but not multisite, and it is working fine. For those that are having trouble, the Installation log fails to note that you must define a third variable, the google docs folder ID, for it to know where to pull from. The ID is the string after “&authuser=0#folders/”, and it should be defined as DOCSTOWP_ORIGIN. The creator of the plugin mentions this here.

   I find the idea of this plugin wonderful but the fact is it doesn’t work with latest wordpres and especially with multisite. I would be more than happy to donate for it, but it seems like abandonware at this moment.

   Instructions make sense if careful to follow orders. No GUI, but started automatically once I edited text files on server. Starting script by adding simple variables is well-done here, and as understandable as copy-paste. Plugin has room to grow if developer insights’ continue to concentrate on ways to mirror and migrate between Google Docs et al web services to user-controlled content management systems like WordPress here, without a challenge, …and maybe futurewise with GUI config, for greater usage?
