   I feel weird reviewing my own plugin, but thought I’d get the ball rolling by posting this first review from the standpoint of someone who uses this plugin on his own sites. This plugin was originally a bunch of code included in a custom theme’s templates, and I wanted to turn it into a shortcode so I didn’t have repetitive code everywhere. From there, it grew into a regular plugin I felt comfortable putting in the WordPress plugin directory. Being able to use the plugin via a shortcode or a widget means I can integrate it into pretty much any theme without a lot of fuss, and the hooks let me customize the display to integrate into an existing layout. Why use this over other “read later” plugins? Well, for one it combines several services into one unified plugin meaning I have less code running every time a page renders. Also, there’s a hook I can use to remove all the CSS so I can completely customize the styling to whatever site I’m working on. In the grand scheme of things, read later buttons are a handy way to keep readers engaged with your long-form content, but they’re a trivially small part of your web site. It shouldn’t take a lot of work to add them to a site and customize how they look. Read Later Buttons makes it simple to get up & running so you can move on to other, more important, parts of your web site design.
