The developer states that you need to be able to add the favicon.ico file into the Root directory of your website, otherwise use other Favicon plugins. If you can add the favicon.ico file into the root directory of your website, then you don’t need a plugin !!

Tried more complex ones which lack maintenance after new WordPress revisions. This one is so simple it hardly needs maintenance. One tip (personal experience) use a .PNG instead of .ICO file. Gives more stable result.
