1.3%

of downloads still active

At least 100 of 7.7K lifetime downloads are still running, above its category: the median Chat & Support plugin keeps 0.8%, across 628 plugins.

Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Chat & Support plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.

High removal-risk signals

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 9+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.7.39, well behind 6.8.

Only thing missing would be a way to limit post notifications based on category or tag, or alternatively to allow a per-post override of the channel name for a post notification. Would make this perfect to scope posts based on team or group who should be reading a post. Thanks!

My company’s web presence is made up of 4 subsites, each with their own blogs. Rock The Slackbot made it easy for me to automatically announce our new posts to a dedicated slack channel, so that the entire team is kept up-to-date on company news. In addition, it notifies the technical team (in another channel) when a new version of WordPress core is available, and when there are plugins to be updated. The plugin’s configuration is easy to understand, and it just works.

Rock The Slackbot is absolutely amazing. I experienced this especially when I got the email notification to update other plugins when Rock The Slackbot was unable to provide information to Slack (because of my mistake in channel name). Well done!
