Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 7+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.9.31, well behind 6.8.

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

This plugin is absolutely fantastic and I use it in all of my many WordPress installations. Actually, the horizontal admin menus have become so familiar to me that I’m quite irritated when I see a standard WordPress admin menu “right out of the box”. From my point of view, there is little or no room for improvement. However, since the plugin hasn’t been updated for more than two years, there is a “warning” shown on the plugin page in the plugin repository which states: “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.” This may prevent new potential users from downloading and testing the plugin. My advice to the developer (if he’s still around): Provide an update, no matter how trivial it may be. Just add “tested for WordPress 5.0 compatibility” or something like that… Your plugin deserves far more attention!

Some users are surprised with the vertical menu. Most users prefer what they know.

My old, trusty admin menu plugin started acting strangely with some newer menu items. This little plugin nailed it perfectly. Thanks!!!

I was excited to find this plugin, as Ozh Dropdown Admin Menu is no longer maintained. However, it ignores changes made to the menu by Admin Menu Editor: still displays menu items that were hidden, and does not show reorganization of menu items. That makes it pretty much useless to me. UPDATE: plugin now compatible with Admin Menu Editor. Like W2O even better than Ozh Admin Menu, which I’m going to replace in about 60 sites over the next few days. Good job, Shisher! If you need such a feature, this plugin is interesting. But it seems it does not manage items showing on admin top bar. No more problem with this and it may be an interference with another plugin. This topic was modified 9 years, 1 month ago by Li-An. This plugin works perfect. It fulfills its function perfectly. Other plugins leave the whole menu unadjusted and with poor visualization, this works very well 🙂
