Est. acquisition value

≈$8.8M range $2M–$39M

A large install base, a clear pro tier and a steady trend. As reliable as an outside estimate gets. The range spans more than 10x because wp.org publishes install counts as broad bands, and conversion and price compound on top. Read the midpoint as an order of magnitude, not a valuation.

How we estimate this

Assumptions

  • Free → paid conversion. 0.5%–2% of active installs pay for the pro tier. Typical for freemium WordPress plugins; the real rate varies a lot by product. Past 1M installs we taper the rate down: a giant free plugin’s long tail converts far worse.
  • Annual price per customer. $99–$199 a year, typical for Analytics plugins rather than this plugin's own pricing.
  • Acquisition multiple. 2.5x–4.5x annual revenue, the going range for small WordPress-plugin businesses, stretched a little because downloads are growing.
  • Install base. 2M–3M active installs, from our install estimate (wp.org only publishes the floor).

Revenue is installs × conversion × price; value is revenue × a typical acquisition multiple. Every factor is an assumption band, so the output is a wide range on purpose. If you're buying or selling, treat this as a starting point for due diligence.

Simple and easy to use. Gives a good incite into the traffic the site receives.

The developers have made it impossible to delete this plugin once it’s installed. Keep getting “Deletion failed” error, and confirmed with our hosting provider that the plugin is sending the error that prevents the deletion. I am now deleting it via SFTP because it is impossible to delete via the WordPress Admin Dashboard. If you don’t know how to delete things via SFTP, and in phpMyAdmin, DON’T INSTALL THIS PLUGIN. It will cause issues as long as it’s installed, and will be impossible to remove.

I installed it thinking I’d get more information than Google Site Kit provides, only to realize it’s basically an adware malware that installs other plugins you never requested. Now I’m trying to uninstall it, and it won’t budge. I’m actually being forced to log in to my server via SSH just to delete the bloody thing.

My website is still pretty new, so I haven’t had time to dig deep into MonsterInsights yet. But from the very start, their support team made me feel right at home. If how they treat people is any sign of what’s ahead, I’m excited to keep using their plugin. I hit a bump right away when I tried to connect my site to Google Analytics. Instead of getting stuck in a mess of tech problems, I just sent a quick note to their support team. One email later, everything was fixed. That’s the kind of help I appreciate. That’s the kind of quick, no-hassle help I wish every company offered. Most places promise it, but MonsterInsights actually came through. So hats off to the MonsterInsights crew. You’ve got a fan here.

We’ve been using MonsterInsights for a couple of years, this is a very useful tool and it’s good to see the insights in an easy-to-understand panel that can be shared with members not working on the website side of things. The PDF reports are particularly useful. I’d also like to say thank you to the support team, especially Mihai & Chris who managed to get our insights displaying correctly after we switched domains. They were quick to respond and sorted the problem we were having with no trouble at all in less than 24 hours.

Dashboard stats r convenient. Setup took no time. Most advanced stuff needs Pro which is kinda annoying. But free version handles basics fine
