High removal-risk signals

63/100

Maintenance and integrity signals that tend to precede a WordPress.org removal. Not an official status, a heads-up to act.

  • Long abandoned. No update in 8+ years — the top precursor to removal once a vulnerability is found.
  • Compatibility drift. Tested only up to WordPress 4.0.38, well behind 6.8.

Est. acquisition value

No paid tier is visible, so we don't put a figure on revenue or sale value: that would be guessing. The install base is a real asset to an acquirer, just not one public data lets us price. A small install base leaves thin data to model from.

This plug-in has worked great for many years, but it no longer works with PHP 8.0 or higher. I updated our website to use PHP 8.2 and immediately got a critical error. After some troubleshooting, I discovered that this Google Calendar Widget plug-in was causing the critical error. If I set the PHP version to any version below 8.0, there was no error. After I disabled the plug-in, the error no longer appeared and the website functioned again with PHP 8.0 and higher.

Plugin does exactly what it says. Works in 4.4.2. I’d give it a 5 if there was an assurance of some kind that the author was still maintaining the code with new WP releases.

Works for basic info, can’t see where it links to the actual google calendar which would be good. It is formatted in a very nice easy to read format, the other “big” plugin(simple calendar now) I had to do a ton of manual manipulation to make it look readable. Hopefully they can link to the actual calendar in the future.

We’ve been using this plugin since late Summer 2014, so prev. to the Google changes, and now also thru a couple WP updates; so have some experience with it. Enough that the client owes a donation :). It was easy to install; easy to add a couple styles to change the appearance (such as make the date purple but the location green, add some padding); and easy to make the changes to accommodate the google api change once I got over my heart attack and found that the support how-tos were already there. I hope ya’ll also give it some love so that Kaz continues to maintain it.

Easy to use, looks nice, popular feature on my front page, [Link redacted] When a change in the Google API broke the plug-in, received very good (and fast) support from developer.

Can’t say enough good things about this plugin. Tired of waiting for Google to integrate something that looks good? So was I – This is it.
