Biggest opportunity: Swap “backup” for “accounts”. “backup” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “accounts” sits at #8 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.

How it's measured →0.4%
of downloads still active
At least 100 of 25.1K lifetime downloads are still running, below its category: the median Backup plugin keeps 1.6%, across 286 plugins.
Downloads count every update, not just first installs, so older and more frequently released plugins read lower. Compare against other Backup plugins, not across the directory. wp.org reports active installs as the bottom of a band, so the real rate is this or higher.
This plugin shipped 1 release in the last 12 months, and every existing install that updated counted as another download. wp.org publishes no split between first installs and updates, so we show the raw rate rather than guess at one.

wp.org is where the directory puts the plugin for that search. On merit is where it would sit if results were ranked on rating, support and updates, without the install boost. The last column is how far the wp.org position moved, from our first reading in the last 90 days to the latest.
| Keyword | wp.org | On merit | wp.org move, 90 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| cpanel your tag | #1 | #5 | 0 |

| auto reply your tag | #12 | #21 | 0 |

| email your tag | Not in the top 24 | ||
| membership your tag | Not in the top 24 | ||
45 searches this plugin appeared in over the last 90 days, 3 listed. 42 left out as unrelated or noise (years, numbers, stray words). 3 of its tags aren't in the top 24 for their own search.
What to do about it
- Swap “backup” for “accounts”. “backup” isn't earning its slot: you're not in the first 24 results for its own search. “accounts” sits at #8 untagged, close enough for a declared tag to move it up. All five slots are taken, so one has to go.
- One page off on “auto reply”. #12 puts you just past the first ten results, where almost all the clicks stop. The gap to close is small.

Directory rank
Ranked about #13,300 to #16,400, alongside the other plugins at 100+ installs. Plugins with the same install count swap places between wp.org requests, so this is where most of them sit. Checked monthly, last on 1 Nov 2026.

Update activity
How busy the existing users are, measured as downloads in the last 30 days for every 1,000 active sites. A spike means a new release everyone's pulling; a long, slow decline means an aging user base that updates less.
Release cadence

What its installed base runs
via wordpress.orgShare of active installs on each version of this plugin. Green is the current release; a big slice on older versions is a user base that has stopped updating.
Estimated active installs
The public count shows “100+”. Our estimate pins where the real number sits.
Crossed into this band today and a band this size takes about a year or more to cross, so the real count is still just under 200.

This plugin has been very useful to us for managing emails on a WordPress multisite installation. The developer is super responsive to bug reports as well!

Pleasantly surprised for a change; this plugin was entirely free and does exactly what it claims without issue. Plus, as far as I know, there is no other app like it. I cannot believe this isn’t in the top 10 most downloaded plugins. Honestly, this should be a built-in WP feature but seemingly everyone has dropped the ball until now. Thank you for developing and maintaining this! I just donated.
